Following the measurement carried out in April, we organised a conference on adhesion and belonging in Bilbao. We paid special attention to the demographic change and the different intergenerational feelings about the topic.

Conference “The erosion of self-government”
(21 October in Gasteiz)
Forty-five years have passed since the Basque Statute of Autonomy was approved. Its acceptance was not peaceful among the nationalists, and after four decades we had the opportunity to reflect on the statute itself and its evolution. We refer both to the competences that were not transferred and to the wear and tear involved in departing from the initial project.

Conference ”Housing emergency in the Basque Country. Where to find a solution”
(16 December in Donostia)
Housing is a priority concern for citizens and housing is currently far from being a right. The Basque Country has one of the highest emancipation ages in Europe, the part of the income that has to be allocated to housing costs is increasing and more and more citizens are unable to develop their life project in their neighbourhoods and villages. At the moment, one of the main reasons for the widespread impoverishment of the population is the rise in housing prices. It is in this context that we organised the day on 16 December.

Working seminar with Euskalgintzaren Kontseilua
(4 October in Martin Ugalde).
Following the conference held on 15 March, ‘The time to make the leap in language planning for public employees: models and proposals’, we held a working seminar on the content received, organised jointly with Euskalgintzaren Kontseilua. Numerous agents from the world of the Basque language took part in it.
